Hyundai Elantra: Bringing the Tech in 2021
We’re most excited about all the innovative technologies that the 2021 Hyundai Elantra is going to offer. Available Dynamic Voice Recognition, for example, is a brand-new feature that makes your car into your own personal assistant.
Do you need to roll down the window, pop the trunk, or turn on the available heated seats? Your wish is this Hyundai sedan’s command! Just say the word and the 2021 Elantra will comply.
The infotainment system will also get a futuristic update with the addition of a 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system in the center stack. This is compatible with available wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ essentially integrate your smartphone with your Elantra so that you can access some of your favorite phone apps through your sedan’s touchscreen. These connectivity features are completely wire-free along with Bluetooth® wireless.
Hyundai SmartSense Driver-Assistive Features
Of course, it’s not just the infotainment system that gets a high-tech reboot for the 2021 model year. This Hyundai Elantra will also come standard with the Hyundai SmartSense suite of smart safety systems, including:
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Lane Following Assist
- High Beam Assist
It’ll also come standard with Driver Attention Warning. This system monitors your driving behavior to detect fatigued or distracted driving. If detected, it’ll provide a suggestion that you take a break from behind the wheel.
Other available systems will be an option, such as available Safe Exit Warning. This helps you exit your vehicle more safely when parallel parked on a busy street. It works by locking the doors if another vehicle is approaching from behind, indicating that it is unsafe to exit your Elantra.
2021 Elantra Powertrain Specs
As you’ve come to expect from this Hyundai sedan, the 2021 Elantra isn’t shy when it comes to engine power. It’ll come with a 2.0L I-4 Atkinson Cycle engine. This engine produces an exciting 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. It’ll be paired with the efficient Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
The IVT is a continuously variable transmission that provides superior efficiency by performing continuous shifts using a wide-ratio pulley system. Unlike a traditional automatic transmission, it doesn’t have any set gears, which allows for nearly infinite shifts between the upper and lower limits. This leads to optimized efficiency for your 2021 Elantra.
