Hyundai KONA Electric Maintenance Schedule

Hyundai KONA Electric

The Hyundai KONA Electric SUV has taken Littleton, Parker, and Castle Rock, CO, by storm. Like any other vehicle, though, it’ll need to receive regular service to keep running optimally. The best way to stay on top of your electric vehicle’s (EV’s) maintenance is to follow its maintenance schedule.

At McDonald Hyundai, we want to make it easy for you to understand and follow the Hyundai KONA Electric’s maintenance schedule. That’s why we put this guide together with key service intervals and what they’ll entail.

What Is a Maintenance Schedule?
What Is a Maintenance Schedule?

Before we dive into the Hyundai KONA Electric maintenance schedule, let’s briefly touch on maintenance schedules and their purpose. Simply put, a maintenance schedule is an outline of services needed at different mileage intervals.

Mileage is used as a benchmark because it acts as a better estimate for longevity. Each mile driven contributes to the wear and tear of your ride, making it easier for service teams to identify worn components and replace them on time.

When you bring your Hyundai to our service center, the technicians can pull its maintenance schedule up to make sure everything is current. If there’s a service that’s overdue, they’ll let you know before they start working.

Key Hyundai KONA Electric Service Intervals

This section will delve into key mileage intervals for your Hyundai KONA Electric maintenance schedule.

Remember that because this is an EV, some routine maintenance services like changes aren’t applicable. For the first 15,000 miles of your vehicle’s life, all you’ll likely need are tire rotations and inspections of the brake fluid and tire condition.

The rest of the schedule would look like this…

  • 15,000 miles: This will be your Hyundai KONA Electric’s first major service visit. On top of the services listed above, your technician will replace the climate control air filter and inspect a bevy of components. These components include the battery; compressor; brake lines, hoses, and connections; brake pedal; cooling system; disc brakes and pads; driveshafts and boots; and steering gear rack, linkage, and boots.

  • 35,000 miles: This may seem like a big jump, but the only service that differs from those listed above is that you’ll have your car’s reduction gear fluid inspected.

  • 40,000 miles: This service visit will see your car’s coolant replaced and the inspection of your tires’ condition as well as their pressure.

  • 60,000 miles: Once the Hyundai KONA Electric reaches this mark, the brake fluid will need to be replaced. The only services that won’t be performed at this visit are the brake fluid and reduction gear fluid inspections.

  • 120,000 miles: Key services performed at this visit include the replacement of the coolant and brake fluid, along with battery and brake inspections.

Now that you’re aware of some of the key mileage intervals in your Hyundai KONA Electric’s maintenance schedule, you’ll be better positioned to have it serviced on time. The maintenance schedule will also be in your owner’s manual.
